(St. George) First things first. You are going to love this food, but you will have to be patient. Durango's in St. George is very popular. If you visit at any time near traditional lunch and dinner hours, you could be in line for at least 30 minutes. You might also be in a line that goes out the door. It's that good.

Durango's is located in a strip mall in St. George near a Panda Express, Cold Stone Ice Cream, and a few other businesses. But its seems to be the most popular business in this location. There is some patio seating outside in the courtyard, but beware of birds trying to get some burrito as well. Dogs are allowed in the courtyard, so you can bring your your good boy or good girl with you to eat Durango's while sitting in the courtyard.

Kylie and I visited at about 5:30pm on a Friday and we were about 20th in line. We were lucky because about ten minutes later, a rush of people showed up and the line was out the door maybe 50 people deep. I have always wondered how much food Durango's prepares for the day because I'm surprised they haven't run out when I was here. I'm sure they do, but I haven't seen it.

Durango's calls itself a Mexican Grill and has TexMex type food; burritos, enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, with rice, beans, steak, chicken, pork, etc. If you have been to Cafe Rio or Costa Vida in Utah, then Durango's will feel very familiar to you.

It can be intimidating the first time you visit with workers asking you several questions like "what kind of beans?" "what kind of sauce?" "everything on it?" The workers at Durango's are very patient, though. Even though they're busy, they make you feel like you matter and they want to get your order right. If you're a first timer, just tell them. They'll be sure to help.

I love their burritos. I usually get steak. I love their steak. I also like how they bake cheese and cause into the top of the burrito. To me, it's the best steak between them, Cafe Rio, and Costa Vida. I think I like the medium sauce better at Cafe Rio, and the rice a tad better at Costa Vida, but I would put Durango's over all of them if I had to choose one place. Everything they have is delicious. We even got chips and queso and it was delicious.

Durango's might be Kylie's most favorite place to eat in St. George. She remembers there used to be a few other locations, but currently the only one is in St. George. I think they could make a ton of money if they had more locations. I don't know why the others closed, but it has led to a sort of cult-like following in St. George. People love it and I don't blame them.

One bit of advice; the ice from their soda machine comes out FAST! You'll usually find a pile of ice underneath the dispenser. Kylie and I love ice in our drinks. The more, the better. So we appreciate their nugget ice. Let it flow, baby! Enjoy this place. It's good food I think you'll come back for.
